How to Write a Good Match Report
Writing a good match report isn’t easy. Not everyone has a natural talent for writing, but there are several tips that can help make your report much more engaging.
Tip 1: Give Every Player Some Attention
We understand that your son is the next Messi and your daughter is already better than Miedema, but try to acknowledge all players in your report. Mention that fantastic save from the goalkeeper or the defensive action from your last player.
Tip 2: Avoid Using "We" or "I"
Research shows that reports are more enjoyable and easier to read when written in the third person. So instead of saying, "We completely outplayed them," say, "The opponents were thoroughly outplayed."
Tip 3: Provide as Much Information as Possible
Include details about the location, weather, preparations, or the standings before diving into the "boring" events like "Jim scored in the 5th minute."
Tip 4: Use Commentada
The easiest tip is, of course, to create an account with us. Commentada takes all these tips into account and writes a beautiful match report for you, right after the game.
